Tax Adjustment Specialist

The Tax Adjustment Specialist is responsible for providing operational support to the payroll team and completing and/all payroll adjustments within the UltiPro application all mid-Market customers.

Primary Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Enter in corrections for payroll inquires for customers based on Salesforce cases.
  • Work with the business partners to determine the best course of action for adjustments. This includes, but is not limited to Payroll Support, Customer Support and the Tax Amendments teams
  • Provides the research, analysis and necessary reconciliation to respond to and resolve agency related payroll tax adjustments within customer service level agreements
  • Interacts with customers and other areas internal to Ultimate Software
  • Expected to quickly prioritize work in order to minimize exposure for both the customer and for Ultimate Software
  • Special projects and additional duties will be assigned on a regular basis


  • Demonstrated experience performing payroll tax reconciliations and analysis
  • Proficient in UltiPro, SQL, Excel and Word
  • General accounting experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and payroll tax agencies
  • Proficient working with multiple systems and tools to perform job functions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-based environment
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and prioritize work accordingly
  • Ability to solve complex multi-state payroll tax issues
  • CPP accreditation is a plus
  • Payroll tax business knowledge & experience
  • Effective communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Excellent follow-up skills with team members
  • Demonstrated ability to remain organized and multi-task
  • Attention to detail is a must

Education/Certification/License: AA degree or comparable education and experience preferred
