Sr. User Experience Designer

Working with Ultimate Software as a Senior User Experience Designer means you’ll tackle all aspects of the delivery process from user research to physical and digital prototyping to software production and testing. Primary Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Lead and apply different methods of design thinking to understand and solve for problem spaces along different phases of a project directly with product owners and tech leads
  • Collaborated with Agile software development teams
  • Working with distributed teams across the US and/or Canada
  • Software design production in:
  • Responsive web design and mobile web
  • Using software and design patterns
  • Prototyping and validating design concepts
  • Working with designers and engineers from different backgrounds and integrating your ideas with theirs
  • Working closely with junior and mid-level designers to offer feedback and production support
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years career experience
  • A strong UX toolkit demonstrated in your portfolio
  • Experience in multiple methodologies
  • Understanding theory and constraints of web technologies (ability to code is a plus, not a requirement):
  • Self-driven, curious, and collaborative
  • Experience with a variety of design tools such as: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), Sketch, Flinto, Atomic, InVision, and/or Axure
  • Designing digital products using an minimum viable product approach
  • Lean UX
  • Agile design methods
  • JavaScript: Angular, React, Ember, and/or Node
  • Standards compliant HTML5
  • CSS3 and CSS pre-processors: LESS, Sass, and/or Stylus

Education/Certification/License:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Graphic Design, New Media, HCI, Interaction Design, or an equivalent experience
