PS activations Account Manager

Ultimate Software is seeking a customer focused, highly energetic, and experienced individual to join our Payment Services Team as an Activations Account Manager. Payment Services strives to deliver exceptional quality service and effective communications with our customers. This role is responsible for managing new customer activation projects, while exceeding our customers’ expectations. This individual has a strong passion for people, building relationships, and accurate implementations and product activations. This individual will report to the Manager Activations, Payment Services.

Primary Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Manage customer Payment Services activation projects
  • Conduct an analysis of customer tax filing requirements
  • Develop strong relationships with new customers and alignment with our internal payroll partners
  • Ensure that all customer current period and prior period data is entered and balanced in the UltiPro Tax filing system
  • The accurate and timely capture of customer tax-ids, deposit frequencies, and employer specific tax rates
  • Partner with customer and Core Payroll Activation teams to ensure Payment Services live date is met
  • Monitor customer through the activation process and transition to the service organization
  • Partners with existing customers to assist with re-organization changes and identify tax filing requirements
  • Complete assigned project tasks, as outlined in the Payment Services customer activation plan
  • Responsible for the overall success of the Payment Services activation project and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure required legal and Payment Services forms are signed and filed with appropriate taxing authority
  • Partner with Support and internal teams to update and maintain core customer profile data for existing customers
  • Provide backup to Payment Service Support team and after hours work, as necessary

Requirements

  • Must be able to manage in an organized, proactive, and independent manner to meet all required commitments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong working-knowledge in payroll tax compliance rules and regulations
  • 2+ years of payroll and payroll tax industry experience
  • 2+ years in a customer facing role
  • Process/operational excellence experience is a plus
  • Previous experience using Master Tax and payroll tax software is a plus
  • 2-5 years of service or product implementation experience preferred
  • 3+ years United States multi-state and local payroll tax filing experience
  • Experience with tax filing requirements for mergers & acquisitions, successor/predecessor, Common Pay Master, or Common Pay Agent required
  • UltiPro experience is a plus
  • Highly motivated and team oriented
  • Ability to solution problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Education/Certification/License:

  • Preferred Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Preferred Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
