Events Communications Specialist

The primary responsibilities of the Event Communications Specialist are twofold: to use our existing technology platforms to manage marketing automation efforts; and to assist our Sales team in identifying internal subject matter experts to speak at external events/update their slides as needed.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the events marketing team – managing and executing email campaigns, leveraging our marketing automation tools, updating metrics and facts within thought leadership PowerPoints, and working closely with internal staff. The Event Communications Specialist plays a critical role in lead generation, ensuring theaccuracy of information contained in e-mails, event reminders, and slide decks, so attention to detail is vital. The ability to communicate calmly and clearly with different stakeholders is necessary. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Work with events marketing automation such as Eloqua, Salesforce, and Cvent, as well as PowerPoint, MS Word, and Excel
  • Produce a high volume of automated campaign assets (e-mails, landing pages, forms, etc.) and create segments in Eloqua
  • Contact and collaborate with a wide range of subject matter experts within the organization
  • Show an avid interest in keeping slide presentations up to date and recommend new industry-related topics to present
  • Work with 3rd-party vendors and platforms, as well as Sales team, on events
  • Support the events team, developing new ideas and best practices to enhance our external communications with prospective customers and existing customers
  • Demonstrate experience with Salesforce and Eloqua reporting and use the data to make informed recommendations
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise, displaying a dogged determination to understand the problem and then resolve it
  • Display a willingness to take on tactical responsibilities whenever necessary
Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience with Eloqua, Salesforce, Cvent, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of demand generation, lead nurturing, brand recognition, and brand loyalty
  • Relentless desire to provide factual accuracy in an interesting and compelling way
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under strict deadlines
  • Detail oriented and organized with a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
  • Ability to take direction from various teammates
  • Serious interest in taking on more responsibilities as they arise
  • Knowledge of HTML and Photoshop are a plus
  • Potential for travel 10% of the time
