Corporate Payroll Administrator

Ultimate Software is looking for a Corporate Payroll Administrator responsible for processing the day-to-day administrative functions of the payroll department. Prepare, organize, file, enter payroll data and general support for the Payroll Team.

Primary Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Prepare new employees documents for new hire processing
  • Verify timesheet transactions and communicate with Managers for Timesheet Approvals
  • Process audit reports from the payroll system to identify and fix inconsistencies
  • Organize all Payroll Department related filing
  • Complete all Payroll Department related scanning and electronic verifications
  • Contact for employee payroll related questions pertaining to earning, deduction, PTO, commission, bonuses etc.
  • Facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
  • Receive and setup wage attachment orders
  • Organize and distribute all paper checks
  • Respond/process US state unemployment claims
  • Maintain internal department training documents
  • Receive, verify, distribute and process relevant mail (US Postal) into the Payroll Department
  • Work with Director of Payroll to prepare payroll related communications, to managers and employees.


  • 2 – 5 years of experience working/supporting Payroll, HR, Benefits or Accounting teams
  • 1 – 2 years payroll processing and/or payroll administrative experience with exposure to Canada multi-province and US multi-state agencies
  • 1 – 2 Ultipro User or Admin level experience a plus
  • 1 – 2 years of wage garnishment experience a plus
  • Computer proficiency: Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong customer orientation

  • Energetic, self-motivated and a team player
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
  • Must be Internet savvy
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving expertise, while working with deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills


  • At least an Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Taxation, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience will be considered
  • FPC or CPP a Plus
