Senior Content Strategy Manager

The Udemy Content team delivers on our mission by leveraging our powerful marketplace content model to deliver on-demand learning content to solve our customer’s problems. We are looking for a highly strategic and scrappy executor with a passion for online education to lead the content planning and management for our subscription-based technical vertical (think premium, online bootcamps and skill assessments for Web Development, Data Science, IT/Software and Certification). You will be the expert in the market and customers’ content needs and will deliver clear, scalable content development and management plans in support of the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Become expert in industry trends and student/customer needs in subscription-based technical verticals to develop the content strategy and acquisition roadmap, differentiate our offering and delight our customers
  • Develop strategic frameworks to improve the content offering, including but not limited to:
  • Researching in-demand technical roles and related skills across career pathways
  • Analyzing themes and patterns in content consumption to guide content acquisition and releases 
  • Identifying and leveraging external inputs including industry trends and instructors’ expertise
  • Lead complex projects within your team and cross-functionally, and anticipate and solve for conflicting viewpoints to reach consensus
  • You actively seek out diverse opinions and perspectives to solve complicated problems 
  • Collaborate with instructors and SMEs to develop training and assessment content that meets product specifications
  • Manage product content, including the tracking of required updates and content performance, to ensure a delightful student experience
  • Advocate for, and provide insight on, critical product feature development to help Udemy accelerate success

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of work experience in content management or content strategy in IT or other computer-related field
  • 2+ years of experience managing the creation and delivery of educational content including assessments and/or instructional materials
  • Strong operational and strategic skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems
  • The ability to get things done by constantly moving between strategy formulation and hands-on, scrappy execution
  • A strong appetite for taking risks, learning, and applying those learnings to move fast
  • Excellent business communication and relationship building skills

Nice to have qualifications:

  • Expertise in the B2B technology training space
  • Knowledge of one or more technical skills domains and the desire to go deeper
  • Experience in high growth SaaS based company
  • Familiarity with Asana and Salesforce or similar for initiative and project tracking
  • SQL, Google Analytics skills a plus
