Job Description

The Kafka Ecosystem Team manages the primary streaming data pipeline for Uber.

The Kafka service is offered across all Uber datacenters and includes 1300+

physical servers and numerous containerized deployments. As one of the largest

Kafka users in the world, it is a critical and fundamental component to Uber's

global operations. In step with Uber itself, we've experienced unprecedented

growth and expansion of more than 2x every 6 months.

Kafka SRE is looking for experienced engineers with strong fundamentals in software

development, testing, and metrics analysis excited to help us position Uber

as a global leader in streaming data platforms. Both in scale and innovation.

We have plenty of challenges to get there including service abstraction,

testing pipelines, automated deployment and management platforms, capacity

forecasting, on and offline scheduling, general infrastructure change management,

and performance tuning.
