Senior Manager, Global Mobility Operations

Uber Overview

This role will focus on maintaining and progressing the operational effectiveness of the Uber Global Mobility Program as well as shaping and executing the program’s strategic vision and philosophy. Reporting to Uber’s Director of Global Mobility, you’ll serve as a key member of the broader global People Operations team. We’ll need you to have both strategic and hands-on experience, as well as a mix of entrepreneurial and large, high-growth company experience. This position is a great opportunity to provide vision and direction around strategic program development in a highly competitive, constantly changing environment

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Oversees general program management activities, with a specific focus on overall mobility service delivery and ensuring service levels are met across all global locations
  • Identifies key mobility initiatives/priorities and leads team efforts to successfully deliver those initiatives
  • Develops and executes the mobility program, policy and process improvements
  • Acts as an advisor to the business and drives strategic mobility planning to support program vision and philosophy
  • Responsible for overall program branding and communication
  • Motivates, develops and trains mobility team members across regions
  • Responds to internal customer inquiries, data analytics and reporting, budget analysis, cost management, develops and facilitates customer surveys, etc.
  • Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of all mobility-related technologies and tools
  • Supports international payroll, stock administration and tax compliance process (reporting, timeline, communication, etc.) with outside tax vendor and Uber’s US and International payroll teams
  • Consults and provides relocation related expertise to hiring managers, recruiters, and business partners to facilitate their use of Uber relocation policies, procedures, and practices
  • Assist accounting and payroll in the reporting and management of relocation accruals
  • Identify opportunities to build know-how and leverage best practices for continuous improvement on Global Mobility
  • Engages with internal UBER IT/HRIS to align mobility systems/data infrastructure
  • Manages vendor relationships and performance, and escalates any vendor issues or approvals as needed
  • Handles out-of-scope approval and exception management with vendors, as appropriate
  • Assists team with handling any service-related issues including mobility technologies and vendor services when needed
  • Owns adherence to controls requirements – health of mobility operations
  • Manages mobility people operations team across regions
  • Acts as a Center of Excellence (COE) for other functions
  • Provides ongoing reports, and cost analysis to assist management decision-making process
  • Ensure operations and processes are both efficient and scalable

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Big 4 and/or tech industry
  • Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent experience
  • General technical knowledge of mobility tax, payroll, and equity considerations for globally mobile employees, GPHR, EA or CPA preferred
  • Strategic and consultative with advanced interpersonal and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing business needs, while remaining creative and innovative with both your team and clients
  • Process and operational consulting skills and ability to engage with business or other functional stakeholders
  • Ability to thoughtfully address systematic improvement and suggest new ways to efficiently manage the program
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, as well as an ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated effective listening and questioning skills
  • Ability to lead reporting and overall program efficiency projects
  • Ability to effectively manage, build and develop global teams
  • Customer-focused and business-minded, with an ability to quickly build relationships by establishing trust, respect, competence, and confidence
