Operations & Logistics Manager - Remote Markets

The Operations & Logistics Manager role is a unique opportunity to help drive growth through the optimization of our growing number of partner drivers and riders. This is a critical role as it directly correlates to continually improving the user experience through greater availability while minimizing costs. You will offer a strong data-driven perspective to help translate analysis into actionable insights consistently across the business.

This is an intense business side startup role, and this person will work with other members of the Austin -based team along with headquarters-based engineering, product, and process teams. This role will have direct responsibility for the growth of the Austin market as well as remote markets managed by the Austin team.


  • Develop & Optimize Processes. Scale new and existing processes to allow the business to efficiently operate and grow
  • Analytics. Analyze how past and current campaign performance impacts rider and driver behavior; recommend strategies and campaigns that will increase loyalty and engagement, and ensure high-quality experiences on the Uber system
  • Strategy. Decide which projects the team should focus on and set an aggressive timeline to reach those goals
  • Product Improvement. Proactively search for new features which could improve a seamless driver and rider experience
  • Partner Relations. Manage user development, identify & attack problem areas for users, and negotiate with businesses forperks, including partnerships for large events and venues
  • Expansion Planning / Recruiting. Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of incentive programs and work with management to execute those strategies
  • Hustle. Take ownership of Uber’s growth in their city and do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Mobilize & Grow. Take on new opportunities like launching a new market, spinning off a new product line, experimenting with new business models… the possibilities are endless!


  • Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
  • Skilled at planning, organizing and executing simultaneous projects and activities. You can prioritize high impact activities and keep complicated projects moving forward. You’ve proven your ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change
  • Solid understanding of a variety of business models (we’re still proving ours)
  • Ability to take initiative in a fluid work environment
  • Startup (all-hands-on-deck) “I bust my ass because I love it” approach
  • A willingness to be “in the trenches” working with our driver-partners and riders
  • Naturally curious with an appetite to work in a highly creative and innovative environment
  • Ability to stay ahead of trends and adapt to new and changing marketing strategies and tools
  • Excellent Excel skills (You know or can figure out how to do just about anything, but aim for simplicity and readability)
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, engineering or similar field
  • SQL knowledge a plus, but not required


  • Consulting, Accounting, or Banking background with numbers/excel driven decision instincts
  • Tech enthusiast with product development and management experience
  • Engineering background with dreams of applying similar process to people processes
  • Corporate strategy or analytical marketing background with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
