About the position
The Operations & Logistics Manager role is a unique opportunity to help drive growth through the optimization of our growing number of partner drivers. This is a critical role as it correlates to continually improving the rider experience through greater availability while minimizing costs. This data-driven role calls for a combination of analytical thinking & interpersonal ability to nurture our partnerships.
This is a rigorous business side role in a high-growth environment, and this person will work with the local operations team along with headquarters-based engineering, product, and process teams. This role will have responsibility for the growth in the KL market
What you’ll do
Develop & Optimize Processes. Scale new and existing processes to allow the business to efficiently operate and growAnalytics. Deep analysis of driver and rider metrics to properly allocate supply, guide driver incentive programs, and ensure high-quality experiences on the Uber systemStrategy. Decide which projects the team should focus on and set a timeline to reach goals quicklyProduct Improvement. Proactively search for new features which could improve a seamless driver and rider experiencePartner Relations. Guide driver development, identify and attack problem areas for drivers, and negotiate with businesses for driver perksExpansion Planning / Recruiting. Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of driver incentive programs and work with management to execute those strategiesDriver Support. Oversee the day-to-day issues of thousands of drivers on our systemBe Resourceful and Take Initiative. Take ownership of Uber’s growth in your city and do everything you can to support and enhance the quality of our services.Mobilize & Grow. Take on new opportunities like launching a new market, spinning off a new product line, experimenting with new business models… the possibilities are endless!
What you’ll need
Data-driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through deep analytical thinkingExcellent understanding of a variety of business models (we’re still proving ours)Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or similar fieldAbility to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment and adopt a generalist do-what-it-takes mindsetA willingness to be “on the ground” working with our driver-partnersSQL knowledge a plus, but not requiredNative fluency in Bahasa Malay and English
Consulting, Accounting, or Banking background with instinct for numbers/excel based decisionsTech enthusiast with product development and management experienceEngineering background with dreams of applying similar process to people processesCorporate strategy background with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
