Analytics Manager - Strategy & Planning Team

The Analytics Manager will champion high priority projects for APAC Community Operations, Uber's customer engagement function. Working with teams across the region, this role will provide hands-on leadership to help design, prioritize, and implement projects to help scale support operations for this fast growing mega-region. This role will be instrumental in driving our business forward. We're looking for someone who can set a vision and can solve problems from 30,000 feet as well as dive deep into the details. This role will work across many functions and teams, within the region and at our APAC headquarters.

As an early member of Uber's Strategy & Planning team, you will help support strategic decision making processes throughout the region through your analytics, heavy data driven approach, and operational mindset. The ideal candidate for this role should have strong analytical skills, excellent time-management and organizational habits, and the ability to clearly communicate and present information to seek buy-in.

Responsibilities:

  • Seek the truth: You will uncover the truth and identify root causes and be able to effectively communicate insights by telling a story around data.
  • Own data-driven decision making: You will drive analyses on projects/experiments and use that to inform important strategic decisions in improving the support experience for drivers and riders.
  • Lead projects: You will lead highly analytics oriented projects across time zones and cultivate a cohesive and creative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Work experience: 3-5 years of experience using data to drive business decisions in high growth, technology, strategy consulting, business intelligence, or investment banking/private equity background. Project or program management experience highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or similar fields. MBA or Master's Degree highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in data management: You are proficient in Excel and SQL. Expertise on other programming languages such as R and/or Python is highly preferred.
  • Clear communicator: You are a clear and concise verbal, written, and visual communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key take aways, and disseminate actionable insights.
  • Ability to self-serve: Self-starter attitude is a requirement! Being able to set a vision and direction for yourself will make you much more effective in this role.
  • Bold: You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and pursue something hands-on. You persevere when others fall away. You are biased toward action, great collaborator and master disambiguator/simplifier, constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery despite limited resources. You can balance attention to detail with swift execution. We need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength.
