Senior Software Engineer - Core User

The Core User team is responsible for providing access to user data at scale and setting strong precedence for Twitch’s services. As a senior engineer on the Core User team you’ll be establishing best practices and leading by example to help Twitch achieve high performing, fault-tolerant systems at scale. This will include both the ongoing development and the future research for our core services, all in the interest of providing the best experiences possible for our users.

Responsibilities

  • Work on critical backend services and microservices
  • Maintain and improve existing Go codebase
  • Implement and evangelize SOA best practices
  • Iterate on and evolve the continuous build and continuous deployment process
  • Collaborate across the company to define, design and build and improve critical core services

Requirements

  • Experience building services / microservices with HTTP APIs from scratch
  • Worked successfully with highly scalable and high throughput services.
  • Minimum four years of experience developing software in a language like Go, Java, Ruby, Python, C
  • Familiarity with source control systems (GIT, etc)
