Senior Marketing Researcher

As a senior marketing researcher, you will provide key insights that guide product and marketing strategy; conduct strategic audience research that shapes roadmaps and sparks new ideas for campaigns and products; and measure the impact and success of Twitch’s marketing initiatives.

The Twitch Science team’s mission is to enable data-driven decision-making. We figure out the best method and approach to answer research questions, deliver actionable results and recommendations to our internal partners, and work closely with viewers, broadcasters and developers to understand their experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create research roadmaps and plans for key marketing initiatives and KPIs based on inputs from executives and senior marketing staff
  • Own and manage complex global audience measurement projects such as brand awareness and reputation, audience segmentation and clustering; develop and validate new survey questionnaires and instruments
  • Advise product leaders on research opportunities and best practices for methods such as surveys and focus groups; develop plans to measure the impact of marketing campaigns
  • Scope and manage marketing research work with third-party vendors as needed
  • Effectively communicate research findings to diverse audiences through writing and presentations; represent marketing research in key product discussions with our executive team
  • Manage your own process: identify and execute on high-impact projects, triage external requests, and bring projects to conclusion in time for the results to be useful

Requirements

  • Expertise in a variety of industry-focused qualitative and quantitative marketing research methods such as focus groups and surveys (true intent, onsite intercepts, e-mail); experience conducting primary marketing research
  • Previous experience managing complex vendor projects such as brand tracking, audience clustering, brand reputation; proven ability to lead such projects independently
  • Understanding of analysis and reporting methods suitable for the fast pace of industry; ability to quickly shift the methodology and scope of research projects to meet short deadlines while collecting the best possible data and delivering actionable results
  • Familiarity with basic descriptive and inferential statistics; familiarity with a social science data analysis tool such as SPSS, R, Python or STATA; familiarity with enterprise survey tools such as Qualtrics
  • Understanding of measurement strategies across B2C and B2B marketing activities
  • Background in marketing, marketing research, business, social psychology, sociology, HCI or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Desire to work on an interdisciplinary research team including UX researchers, data scientists and data analysts

  • Previous experience working directly with human research subjects to conduct marketing studies, such as focus groups
  • Understanding of measurement strategies across domains such as event, product and acquisition marketing
