Senior Finance Manager

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to help build our FP&A team and improve our financial and analytical reporting tools.  Your contributions will fundamentally impact the business processes, results and overall efficiency of both finance and operations.  This position will oversee management reporting, monthly close, financial forecasts, annual budgeting with emphasis on OPEX forecasting.  Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following as additional roles and/or focus will be needed as the company and department continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Process efficiency improvement and housekeeping: The role will be ever mindful of the need to implement strong processes and improve the efficiency of the existing processes to support our growth; monitor expenditures versus forecasts and budgets; conduct periodic reviews of financial results, understand key variances to plan and orchestrate the path to corrective action with key stakeholders across the organization and with Amazon; participate in the design and implementation of internal control systems
  • Work cross functionally to ensure accurate reporting on all financial metrics and key performance indicators
  • Proactively develop key financial analysis and insights to help enable the company to meet its monthly, quarterly and annual targets, and strategic objectives
  • Maintain and manage relationship with members of Corporate Finance team at Amazon
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Understand and communicate financial results and trends to management, as well as recommend an appropriate course of action when results differ from plan
  • Monitor current performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plan and modeling tools, P&L outlook and other accounting close processes
  • Lead and own Opex and headcount budgeting and reporting. Manage multiple data sources to ensure data integrity and quality of data for OPEX and Headcount reporting. Partner with business partners to ensure alignment of reporting through reconciliation, troubleshooting and resolving OPEX/headcount variances
  • Support management team and department heads with in-depth analysis
  • Manage purchase order process to ensure it’s in line with budget/forecast
  •  Ad hoc financial modeling and analysis as needed

Requirements

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management
  • Experience working for a larger tech company preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years finance or operational experience
  • BS in Finance, Engineering or Accounting preferred, MBA a plus
  • Track record of managing and developing team members is a must
  • Strong Excel skills are a must
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical and system skills
  • Proven ability to problem solve
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Strong financial reporting skills are a must
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves
