Head of Accessibility

As a leader in online video content and communities, Twitch is dedicated to delivering the best user experience to all our viewers and broadcasters. Our Head of Accessibility will lead efforts across the company to ensure our product is accessible and inclusive. We strive to deliver accessible online communities and content and are looking for an innovator to lead and develop our accessibility practice.


  • Own accessibility strategy at Twitch
  • Build an accessibility program to work with business, product, design, science, engineering and legal leaders to identify, prioritize and deliver high impact accessibility initiatives and across all of our products
  • Build empathy across the company for accessibility and inclusive design
  • Work directly with product and design leaders to problem-solve and address core accessibility issues
  • Serve as Twitch’s go-to expert on accessibility, assistive technologies, and compliance
  • Partner with our design, product, engineering, and user research teams to develop systems that are not only compliant, but impactful for our broadcasters and their communities
  • Hire and develop a team, as necessary to support our accessibility goals


  • Excellent written communication skills
  • 10+ years hands on experience in the accessibility space
  • 8+ years hands on experience building, managing and developing teams
  • Expertise in accessibility best practices, guidelines, and regulations—such as WCAG 2.0 and the CVAA; ability to consult with executive team on risk assessment
  • Experience working with product, design, engineering, and legal teams to deliver accessibility audits, code reviews and other advisory services
  • Experience working on consumer product accessibility both on video and communications products and across a variety of devices, such as desktop, smartphone, gaming console, and OTT services
  • A strong awareness of assistive technologies available to people with disabilities
  • Track record of innovation in the accessibility space

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing closed captions vendors and programs
  • Experience conducting and leading accessibility studies with human subjects, or partnering with a user experience research team to conduct such studies; awareness of accessibility research best practices for onsite and remote accessibility studies
