Corporate Counsel

Twitch is looking for a Corporate Counsel to join our fast-paced and innovative UK office. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a high impact contribution to an innovative and thriving company on the cutting edge of technology and gaming.
 
You will be responsible for counseling Twitch’s European offices on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters.  You will help guide a growing company by providing strategic and day-to-day advice on media transactions, advertising law, privacy and employment issues, and other matters that affect the operation of the business (regulatory, corporate governance or otherwise).  You will also draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements for a wide range of deals, including sponsorships, production and ad technology.   You will work closely with global business and legal teams located in Twitch’s US headquarters, while focusing on Twitch’s London office and its rapidly growing European affiliates in Germany, Luxembourg and Sweden. 

Responsibilities

  • Work across a wide range of projects as a corporate generalist
  • Partner with clients to negotiate legal agreements for core operations and key business initiatives
  • Provide advice on legal risks and business requirements in connection with licensing, data security, privacy, intellectual property and commercial issues
  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial transactions with technology vendors, ad networks, data centers, IP transit providers, and developers

Requirements

  • Fully qualified lawyer in UK with outstanding academic qualifications
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, with at least two years in a highly regarded international law firm.  Must have experience in content and media licensing, privacy and corporate transactions
  • Must be located in the UK and able to commute to Twitch’s London office every day
  • Strong leadership skills, as the position will require providing guidance to a new and growing office
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent writing and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and strong business acumen
