Business Manager

Twitch Korea is tasked with growing out Twitch’s Korean regional business.  Our office is located in Seoul and currently has Content Acquisition, Social Media/Outreach, Events and Partnerships Support teams as well as a studio partnership (esports and community content production).  

Twitch Korea is tasked with growing the largest live streaming community in Korea, while building the tools and experiences necessary to bring joy to Twitch’s user base.  The Korea team is a dedicated group of passionate individuals focused on creating the best possible live-streaming and VOD creation environment for Korean content creators.   

As the Business Manager, you will manage our growing pipeline of Content Acquisition and BD deals. You will build a tracking report from the ground-up, while utilizing internal Twitch tools (such as Salesforce), to manage deals from ‘exploratory to closed’ (by the Content and BD teams) through ‘contract execution’. You will coordinate with key groups in HQ to understand and improve on their processes, paving a path to Twitch operating, locally, at the speed of ‘Korean business’. You will be responsible for key business analysis that will allow our Content and BD teams to execute their jobs more efficiently, allowing them to focus on relationship management and larger content growth initiatives. You are the person most responsible for keeping the Korean business operating efficiently, reducing internal roadblocks and clearly communicating how to help Twitch Korea grow faster, safely.

Responsibilities

  • Constant communication between Twitch HQ and the Twitch Korea team
  • Accountable for Content and BD contract execution/follow up for Korea
  • Responsible for coordinating with HQ to understand all changes in Legal and Finance processes, and communicating these to key stakeholders in the local team
  • Live tracking of all Korean projects
  • Regular business and strategic analysis/reporting to HQ
  • Work with HQ to improve process/identify key roadblocks to conducting business in Korea properly

Requirements

  • Cross-functional process management expert - used to dealing with different internal key business partners
  • Organizational master - able to keep track of, and understand the details of multiple transactions across different business units
  • Training on existing project management, ticketing, tracking, and communication tools, and the desire to make sure what you’re using is the best tool for the job
  • A strong sense of project ownership and the commitment to go the extra mile. It’s the little details that separate good from great
  • A proven track record of creating and improving processes. You don’t just inhabit a role; you make it better
  • The forethought to thoughtfully escalate problem areas in advance. You aren’t afraid to ask for help early, and we won’t penalize you for raising concerns
  • Experience in Banking, Consulting, Accounting or BD with major Korean or International firm
  • Native Korean verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English - verbal and written
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with the Twitch platform
  • Salesforce literate or a desire to learn (quickly)

Bonus Points

  • Understands the broadcasting culture of Korea (Gaming or General)
  • Experience working with content/licensing contracts related to Gaming or Media transactions
  • Has experience in working as a liaison to execute standard and complex deals and projects for global companies
  • Has experience working for talent agencies or entertainment companies
  • Existing relationships within the Korean gaming industry and broadcasting community
  • Understanding of common online video and online advertising metrics
  • MBA, JD, CFA or CPA
