Sr. Software Engineer - Super Network Engineering

Who?

You have a strong track record of successfully delivering solutions to complex problems. You feel comfortable working in a fast paced environment to produce high-quality code. You are the one your colleagues run to for a solution to puzzling technology problems. You can think at scale and are passionate about operational excellence. You have built and operated high throughput, highly available and secure systems. You can lead and mentor. Driving system design and architecture in collaboration with the other engineers excites you. You communicate effectively in person, on paper, and in code. You love making an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams.

What?

You will become a member of a skilled engineering team that builds and operates systems that allow Twilio to have the greatest reach into the telco provider landscape. You will contribute to the team's success by designing and implementing highly scalable and highly available microservices, reviewing other engineers' code, writing high-quality system, performance, integration, unit, and functional tests. You will be debugging high-visibility production systems, breaking down requirements, estimating tasks, and maintaining existing services and tools. You will be collaborating with our Tech Lead to set up the best practices and improve engineering processes within the team. The job responsibilities also include being on-call, resolving incidents, participating in post-mortems and operational reviews.

You will be mainly working with Scala/Java/MySql/AWS.

Why?

The challenge: Twilio's mission is to fuel the future of communications. Developers and businesses use Twilio to make communications relevant and contextual by embedding messaging, voice, IoT and video capabilities directly into their software applications. As a member of our Connectivity Services team, you will have a chance to contribute to the very core of these capabilities, which are made available through our Super Network, the world’s most reliable and resilient communications network. For the last ten years, the Super Network group has been hard at work building an Intelligent and Resilient Global Infrastructure to reach anyone in the world over any channel through one provider, at any scale. Since nothing is ever perfect, we are not done yet. Join and help us make Super Network even stronger.

The culture: Twilio is truly unique; we are a company committed to your growth, your learning, your development and your entire employee experience.  We only win when our employees succeed, and we are dedicated to helping you develop your strengths. We invest in weeks devoted to tackling hard problems and generating new ideas. We have a cultural foundation built on diversity, inclusion, and innovation and we want you and your ideas to thrive at Twilio.  You belong here.

Where?

This position will be located in our beautiful and well-designed office at Veerenni 24 in Tallinn. You will enjoy our incredible perks: monthly breakfast, twice a week lunch, dinner during our bi-weekly global All Hands and a fully-stocked kitchen with a variety of snacks and beverages. We have many team building events weekly, monthly and of course annual summer days. What you will also get to experience is a company that believes in small teams for maximum impact; that strives to balance work and home life, that understands that this is a marathon, not a sprint; that continuously and purposefully builds an inclusive culture where everyone can do and be the best version of themselves. We seek people who naturally demonstrate our values, who are challenged by problems, empower others to thrive, people who can draw the owl and not be beholden to one playbook.
