Who?

Twilio’s Orchestration Runtime team is part of the Platform Foundation organization which builds tools and services that allow Twilio’s product teams to automate, coordinate, and manage distributed systems at scale. Come join us to build our next generation Platform at Twilio.

We are looking for an experienced software developer who is interested in developing our next-generation internal PaaS at Twilio. You have experience with:

  • Building public or private IaaS and/or PaaS platforms
  • Working with service mesh sidecars (e.g. HAProxy, Envoy, Linkerd) and public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud) to power our next generation PaaS.
  • 4+ years of experience working with distributed computing
  • Communicating with your peers both verbally and in writing
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field is a minimum requirement.
  • Working with Agile development practices

What?

You will be joining the team that owns Twilio’s automated remediation system (Lazarus) and the network service mesh. These systems allow development teams to improve the resiliency of their systems, while keeping service-to-service communications observable, performant, and secure. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing world-class, operationally excellent services in accordance with Twilio's engineering and operating standards.
  • Collaborating with tech leads and product managers to guide requirements, and contribute to defining measurable goals for the team.
  • On-call rotations and participating in post-mortems, incident resolution, SLA definition, and operational reviews
