Being a Sales Manager at TubeMogul

The Sales Manager to help us simplify and enlighten digital brand advertising. This is a great opportunity to become an early part of our growing presence in China as we build out the team at our new Shanghai office. You will work closely with digital video experts to accelerate the adoption of our media buying platform for video among global and local agencies and brands in China.  The ideal candidate is an intense but consultative seller with strong analytical and communication skills.  You will be expected to be a leading expert in a product-focused company and fast-moving industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Calling on brands and agencies
  • Approaching and working with various influencers within target accounts and both junior and senior levels
  • Understanding prospects’ key goals, workflows, and needs through in-person and remote meetings
  • Understanding historical and trending characteristics of the media buying landscape, both globally as well as here in China
  • Educating clients on the benefits of video and real-time buying
  • Problem-solving by developing creative and innovative structures and solutions
  • Developing, negotiating and structuring long-term relationships with clients
  • Providing campaign strategy consultation and analysis 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of sales experience in the online advertising, television, or media industries or 3+ years of experience in enterprise software sales. Your sales experience should include working with a quota.
  • 2+ years of experience selling direct to brand advertisers
  • New business sales experience, you have taken new technology deals from prospect to close.
  • A track record of developing enduring client/partner relationships
  • Ability to pose creative solutions to address client needs
  • You are an ad technology and digital media competitive marketplace expert.
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment, you can work independently and problem-solve in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic and drive to exceed expectations
  • Intimately familiar with Chinese business etiquette, you ideally also have experience studying or working abroad or working for a foreign company.
  • Highly proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and English, verbally and written
  • A passion for marketing and advertising
