Viral Journalist

Are you a Facebook-trend-setter? A master of hashtags? Do you live and breathe SEO? The Orlando Sentinel is seeking a viral journalist to produce content for our Gone Viral blog and contribute to breaking news coverage across a variety of topics.

The qualified candidate will be able to spot social media trends before they happen and also to produce and aggregate share-able stories at a rapid pace. A talent for brevity, a snappy writing style and a strong working knowledge of search-engine optimization and social media strategies are a must. This journalist will be a vital member of the Sentinel’s breaking news team, a fast-paced and digital-focused group  of reporters who often work on tight deadlines, but who also produce in-depth enterprise and watchdog stories.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, fast and willing to work early. This position requires experience at a daily news organization and a bachelor’s degree. Considered a plus: experience with video production and content management systems. Contact Lisa Cianci at
