Senior UX Researcher (Portland, OR)

Job Summary
The User Experience (UX) team at Tripwire contributes to the development of a suite of
complex, powerful security products that the biggest companies in the world use to protect their
IT environment.
You will plan, conduct, synthesize and communicate user research to propel the development of
products and features that customers find valuable.
You will take on strategic and projectlevel
challenges as you supply product management, R&D
leadership, and R&D Scrum teams with the insight needed to plan and implement projects
You should expect to conduct a mix of generative and validative user research as we sustain
current products while we plan future offerings.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
● Lead research initiatives in order to bring deeper understanding to highlevel
and project objectives
● Plan and conduct research with Tripwire customers
● Organize and synthesize research
● Effectively communicate insights using a range of communication tools
● Communicate user needs and perspectives to inform project planning and design
● Conduct strategic conversations with PM and R&D management
● Participant recruitment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
● Experience conducting research on enterprise software or similarly complex subject
● Effective communication using a range of UX artifacts like mental models, customer
journey maps, personas, scenarios, task flows, and related documents
● Curiosity and comfort with learning and studying new and complex concepts
● Ability to plan and organize research priorities with minimal direction
● Experience facilitating strategic discussions based on research insights
● Ability to think strategically while making decisive recommendations for the immediate
● Passionate about serving the customer yet practical about limitations
● Ability to make the complex accessible and understandable
● Experience working in an Agile environment (preferred)
Strong collaboration skills within the UX team and in development teams
● Strong organizational skills to enhance UX research store
● MS degree preferred in cognitive psychology, human factors, HCI, HCDE, or similar
● 5+ years experience conducting user research
