Workday HRIS Consultant

The Workday HRIS Consultant will report to the Director of HRIS and will be part of a group that supports many of the HR and People Operations functions. He/she is responsible for working with end users to gather business requirements, troubleshoot systems issues, and perform ongoing configuration of the system. This resource is expect to lead and deliver discrete projects within the systems group; this will sometimes involve managing resources from other groups within TripAdvisor and/or outside consultants.

This role has global reach, interacting with clients in all geographies where TripAdvisor has employees. The ideal candidate will have considerable expertise in HR systems, especially Workday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverages Mastery-level knowledge of Workday, and other systems as assigned, to Lead in the configuration and deployment of new modules / functionality
  • Participate in initiatives that integrate Workday with other systems and help define functional requirements with the HR users and vendors
  • Owns configuration for assigned areas
  • Leverages independent judgement in obtaining superior results
  • Evaluate, communicate and coordinate the technical impacts of Workday configuration decisions
  • Create and maintain custom reporting in the system
  • Educate users on the use and features of Workday
  • Manage projects leveraging project management principles
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to management
  • Identify opportunities to alter business processes and configuration to better dovetail with Workday’s strengths
  • Assist and provide Level 2 Support on HR production issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • B.S. with Masters preferred
  • 12+ Years of business experience, preferably in the HR domain
  • 5+ Years of Workday experience, preferably as a Workday consultant certified in one or more of the following areas

  • Leverages broad workday expertise to provide a solution with options
  • Excellent business analysis skills: timeline planning, requirements definition and documentation, test planning, deployment approaches
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Superior detail orientation, organization, and analytical skills
  • Outstanding Excel skills and knowledge of MS Project or other Cloud based Project management tools
  • Thrive on simultaneously managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing environment with minimal supervision
  • Leads in the delivery of HRIS strategies and goals that align with company objectives
  • Experience with change management methods and programs a plus
  • Works hard, but can laugh and have fun in the process
