Client Sales Manager

We are looking for a smart and energetic online advertising sales professional to help grow the company's rapidly expanding Client Development team within the display advertising business. The Client Sales Manager reports into the Head of Client Development in the Americas and will be responsible for creating and presenting strategic and tactical revenue initiatives and opportunities to a portfolio of travel clients within specific travel industries (OTAs & Hotels).

The successful candidate must be assertive, creative, and resourceful. S/he must enjoy working in a highly entrepreneurial environment while also being able to partner with a variety of internal teams. The position requires outstanding sales, communication, presentation and organization skills, as well as a gift for developing and maintaining senior level, client relationships. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of digital media (both Direct Response and Brand Awareness, multi-platformed campaigns). S/he will be responsible for hitting monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets. The successful candidate will be based in a major metro area (New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco or LA)

What We Seek:

  • 5+ years of experience selling online advertising with responsibility for an annual quota of at least $2.5 million
  • 6+ years of media sales experience
  • Recent and successful track record of sales (to the travel industry is a plus but not a necessity)
  • Enthusiasm for the industry and the ability to plan and build long-term relationships across a dedicated sector within the Americas
  • A natural ability to help clients grow their brand and achieve internal targets through developing creative, multi-level partnerships
  • Have strong analytical skills and the capacity to learn, analyze and present new data products, research capabilities and detailed performance reports both internally and externally
  • The willingness to thoroughly understand the nature of the sector(s) and the ability to present the unique power and value that TripAdvisor has across the globe
  • The skills to establish themselves as a knowledgeable representative of TripAdvisor by attaining information and reporting on developments and market news with their team and clients
  • The ability to create seamless working relationships with other teams within the business including Sales, Operations, Marketing, Partnerships, etc.
  • A desire to keep improving by building a better base of product, sector and partner knowledge and sharing across teams
  • The ability to be constructively critical of one's own work, and that of their team
  • A team-player mentality; someone who enjoys developing and presenting an advertising-based, revenue-generating idea/opportunity to a marketing challenge, often without a specific brief
  • A creative passion and ability to perform in a fast-paced, highly changing marketplace
  • The capability to grow revenue from strategic sectors while meeting and exceeding revenue target
  • Experience bundling different types of advertising products (e.g. CPM media, sponsorships, mobile, etc.)
  • Must be positive, persistent and professional - a solution oriented problem solver
  • Ability to travel frequently within the continental U.S.
