Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for leveraging understanding of clients’ supply chain requirements to procure and maintain transportation solutions. This position coordinates these services in a manner which meets the client’s service requirements and maximizes both cost savings for our clients and overall company revenue.

This position does not have supervisory responsibility. This position is primarily based in our Wyomissing, PA office in a professional office environment. Minimal travel may be required.

You’d be having fun doing this and more throughout the week:

  • Independently leading compliance, performance audit, and training of new and existing carrier base
  • Negotiating and securing carriers for freight shipment, ensuring established expectations
  • Analyzing and recommending continuous improvement opportunities in line with team goals
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop creative logistics solutions
  • Cultivating relationships with core carriers to ensure a consistent pool of available resources
  • Conducting cold calling and researches available databases for potential leads
  • Tracking back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate
  • Maintaining and developing positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel
  • Identifying, recommending, and enacting opportunities for learning and development within the team
  • Assisting in content development and creation of training materials
  • Providing other departmental support as needed

You also need these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience
  • 2 – 7 years of transportation industry experience is required
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately
