European Regional Fulfillment Center Overview

The ERFC is Trimble's logistics hub for European, Middle East and African markets. Trimble products and components are received into the ERFC from global external suppliers and from Trimble locations in the U.S., Europe, and Scandinavia. In the ERFC, products are stored, picked, packed, and shipped to customers throughout the EMEA region. Many products are configured, kitted, or receive other value added services (VAS) in the ERFC.

Trimble associates fill and process purchase orders and sales orders in the ERFC. They also manage customs and documentation operations for inbound and outbound shipments. Shipment from the ERFC is done under a wide range of shipping terms and conditions. The receiving, warehousing, VAS, and outbound shipping activities are performed by a third party with Trimble oversight.

Objective Statement

This position provides operational and organizational execution of Customs, Import, Export and Transportation related activities to the European Regional Fulfillment Center and coordinates where needed with the rest of the global Trimble logistics and supply chain operations. The position supports the Trimble sales organizations, Trimble customers internal and external through providing support and advice on Customs, Import, Export and Transportation related issues.

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Customs instructions for Inbound Shipments consigned to the ERFC, report arrival of these shipment to customs through EDI in accordance with the regulations described in the customs licenses.
  • Verify and analyze inbound shipments to ensure products and quantities match with Import Documents, Receive inbound shipment into the Duty Management System in accordance with the regulations described in the customs licenses. Report irregularities and record differences in the inbound file.
  • Prepare and communicate Inbound Planning to ERFC Staff and 3PL Inbound Personnel
  • Process all Material Transactions in DMS that impact Customs Inventory (Cycle Counting, Work Orders, Subinventory Transactions, Miscellaneous Transactions etc.) to ensure that stock in the Duty Management System is in sync with ERP and WMS, to avoid Inventory issues that delay shipping of the orders.
  • Clear goods in DMS for Sales Orders, Rework, Scrap, Work orders when requested by Order Management, Planning, and Program Managers.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
  • MBO administrative educational background
  • Around5 years working experience in an Import / Export environment
  • Customs Brokerage experience/training, preferably in possession of a Declarant/Assistant Declarant diploma
  • Excellent understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Customs Import / Export Documentation
  • Import / Export regulations and formalities
  • Product Classification (Understanding Harmonized Classification rules)
  • Understanding of Product Origin
  • Understanding of INCOTERMS
