Job Description:
CTCT (Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies) is seeking an experienced Software Engineering and Business leader for our Chennai, India location. This position has two key areas of accountability: CTCT Software Engineering Management and CTCT site management in Chennai. The successful candidate will join the engineering leadership team, managing a global team of over 60 software development and test engineers, and will serve as a part of the CTCT Senior Staff team as the site leader for Chennai. CTCT Senior Staff provides input to help make joint venture business decisions. The role also includes serving as the primary leadership interface for Caterpillar and Trimble at the Chennai site.

Key Responsibilities:
Software Engineering Management:
- Lead the expansion and development of the global Grade Control Platform Software development and test teams.
- Spearhead engineering initiatives to ensure successful product and feature deployments in collaboration with international partners.
- Align software development strategies with the global team to ensure consistency and high performance.
- Work closely with Product Management teams and our global organization to align engineering deliverables with market needs and strategic goals.
- Implement metrics for continuous improvement in efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for career advancement.
- Cultivate a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality personnel at the Chennai site, in line with our People Experience strategies.
- Contribute to Senior Staff business decisions impacting global Joint Venture operations with consideration of the overall business impact, bringing insights based on local Chennai knowledge
- Manage local resources effectively to support product development and site activities.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Chennai site.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Caterpillar and Trimble, representing CTCT in strategic discussions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering, or a related IT field
- Over 15 years of industry experience in embedded software development for heavy-industry, automotive, industrial applications, or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role with direct people management responsibilities, including performance management and career development
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to the management of a large global business
- Excellent communication and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to use influence to achieve team goals and objectives
- This position will require approximately 10% global travel (US and New Zealand primarily)
