Sales Engineer
TransUnion (TU) is a leading provider of data driven information solutions. We are looking for Sales Engineers to join the Government Information Solutions division. The Sales Engineers (SE) will work closely with the Government sales team and will lead the technical & functional aspects of an opportunity. The SE will be involved in early phases of the sales cycle and as the cycle progresses will pull together and coordinate activities across product specialists that are needed for the opportunity. The SE responsibilities will extend all the way through coordinating delivery. The right candidate will have the opportunity to be part of the strategic vision and subsequent advancement opportunities as this newly formed team continues to grow. We are looking for people with intense customer and market focus and a desire to always want to be talking with people in the market and customers. The right candidate will be able to communicate with C-level executives, business users, and technical architects and is willing to work strategically and also tactically to get things done.

Core Responsibilities:
- Work alongside a sales executive to qualify opportunities by assessing and uncovering a partner or client's data problems, needs and pain-points
- Become knowledgeable on all TU offerings and points of contact for expert assistance
- Demonstrate & educate contacts on our suite of TU offerings.
- Evaluate RFP technical requirements for TU ability to deliver and technical gaps, support the bid/no-bid decision process.
- When part of RFP team, work with other technical team members to design and respond to the technical solution
- Coordinate solution SMEs from across TU to design solutions and conduct POCs to show the value of our offerings. In this role the SA is acting as technical project lead
- Support Implementation of the solutions.
- Provide feedback on strategy and product roadmap by working with product and strategy team members and product owners.
- Contribute to outbound marketing messaging and thought leadership pieces
Qualifications:
- 5 years in a pre-sales/post-sales role supporting the sale of software or services
- 2 years (preferred but not required) in data industry, knowledge of TU offerings is a plus
- Experience supporting a team selling environment
- Experience supporting Federal and State governments
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills that can be demonstrated in both public speaking and written formats
- Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically
- Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
