Snr Manager Accounting

Dynamics of the Role:

TransUnion Africa is currently recruiting for a dynamic and figure orientated individual to be responsible for the Accounting team, including AP and Procurement, General Ledger, Payroll and Tax and associated activities. Reporting to the Africa CFO, this goal orientated, driven and innovative individual will navigate a multicultural and highly competitive environment while partnering with a number of internal and external customers such as the, CEO, group holding companies (Chicago, Corporate and International),internal and external auditors (local and foreign), the TU Finance team (local and US), local and foreign tax authorities and the South African Reserve Bank; to ensure that the teams are managed in a way that exceeds expectations.

The Finance Team operates in a vibrant, fast-paced and demanding performance-based environment where the internal and external customer drives results. With multiple reporting lines within the headquarters based in Chicago as well as locally, deadlines are highly pressurised and non-negotiable. This team has a strong customer focus and aims to become a strategic partner with the business, enabling better business decisions and a brighter future for TransUnion. The team considers external factors which will influence the work environment as well as future conditions to ensure effective strategies.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Manage and coach a team according to the management effectiveness standards at TransUnion
  • Co-ordinate, manage and control of all requirements, reports and submissions for statutory and internal audits of local and foreign entities
  • Implement financial and management accounting controls and principles
  • Co-ordinate and manage the delivery of subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate reporting for inclusion in consolidated results
  • Manage and review of company and consolidated results – income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and supporting notes
  • Implement financial and management accounting controls and principles
  • Implement and monitor compliance with TransUnion Africa and group policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with both US GAAP and IFRS
  • Ensuring and enforcing compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act.

What You'll Bring:

We are looking for a minimum CA (SA) qualification preferably with big 4 articles and at least 6 years post articles experience within a commercial financial environment. Experience managing a team of at least 10 people is critical to the role as well as sound knowledge of IFRS and Tax as well as strong computer literacy. Prior PeopleSoft experience would be an advantage and advanced Excel skills are required.
