Senior Disaster Recovery Specialist
Seeking a Disaster Recovery Specialist who assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and programs for ensuring the integrity and availability of TransUnion's data, systems, services and technology. Participates in risk management analysis and assists with the creation of disaster recovery and resumption plans. Works with the service owners and IT teams to develop and periodically execute the testing processes utilized to validate the disaster recovery preparedness and the overall resiliency capabilities of the IT organization. Manages a repository of DR and Resiliency material including the DR plans that will be accessible in the event of a disaster.
Manage and maintain detailed information/plans supporting the overall Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures, processes and plans.
Review existing DR plans to ensure that the plans are complete, current and that all process steps are validated with the correct technical resources.
Ensures system and technology changes/upgrades are reflected in the disaster recovery plan documentation.
Manage the development and implementation of DR plans and procedures to ensure the IT services supporting critical business functions can resume within a predefined time frame in the event of a disaster with minimal data loss.
Approve DR plans based on their design criteria, development, implementation, and maintains disaster recovery processes, methods and tools based on industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead and conduct the necessary research to ensure the appropriate technical recovery solution is developed to meet the requirements of business and any regulatory obligations or to protect the image of the corporation.
Work independently to identify critical points of technology vulnerability. Make recommendations for improvement to the (DR) plans and process methodologies. Compile results of analysis for management review.
Identify, propose and implement process improvements for the DR program. Involve others as needed to gauge the impact and benefits, document the improvement, identify implementation steps required, and ensure implementation
Provide input on customer agreements/contracts related to DR or Resiliency.
Provide responses to customer, regulatory and other audits regarding our disaster recovery posture.
Maintain business continuity plan for DR function and ensure the IT organization as a hole is maintained. Interfacing with Business Continuity Team regarding IT and disaster recovery issues.
Train and assist other members of the DR team as the subject matter expert on topics relevant to the DR program.
Create and maintain educational and training information regarding disaster recovery, such as the DR page on TU HUB, for TU associates at large.
Contribute to the technical leadership of the department and IT.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (5 years in Disaster Recovery or Resilience Programs)
Strong knowledge of disaster recovery and business resumption processes and practices
Ability to work under stressful conditions, such as a business related crises
Strong oral and written communication skills
A technical breadth and depth in IT systems and technologies overall
Applicable professional certifications
