Data Management Analyst

Dynamics of the Role

TransUnion is looking for exceptional Data Management Analysts to join our Data Quality Team. We are a dynamic, talented, and passionate team looking for highly talented individuals. We analyze big data sets for various business requirements such as viability of new data content for potential value add into our content portfolio; current products for additional customer usage and valuation; quality and trending of the production portfolio data elements. We closely collaborate with ETL and operations and development teams in building of world-class data products. The role requires a level of creative approach and solution to varying business requirements. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem solver, resourceful in getting things done, and productively works independently and collaboratively. They have an ability to break large complex problems into manageable pieces, strong object oriented concepts, and an ability to dig through large volumes of data to derive meaningful results.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Analyze variously formatted public records and vendor data for value and integration into the product platform
  • Develop reports and KPI metrics for weekly, and monthly management meetings.
  • Document business requirement enhancements for ETL configurations for developers and production partners for technical implementation of data products
  • Understand the complex algorithms used within our ETL environment
  • Prepare and present analysis results to our various business partner stakeholders
  • Assist in development and expansion of various data quality programs and initiatives
  • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly reports and triage problems to the appropriate business unit
  • Facilitate weekly stakeholder meeting. Provide updates on operational issues including missing data, ETL loading, web crawlers, automated data retrieval
  • Recommend responses and continuous improvement actions to data and production issues
  • Enjoying being challenged and to solve complex data proposals on a daily basis

What You'll Bring:

  • 3 years with data ingestion, analysis, integration, design and governance
  • 3 years utilizing relational concepts, data design techniques, ETL
  • 3 years as an ETL analyst using an enterprise tool such as Ab Initio or Informatica
  • 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance/Control capacity
  • Ability to handle large volumes and variations of data, analyze, investigate and provide insight.
  • Sound knowledge of SQL
  • Solid computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures and programming skills)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, independent thinking, collaborative team player
  • 2 years in a big data environment, preferably in a similar market as TransUnion

Additional skills desired but not required:

  • Experience providing stable and reliable big data solutions
  • Experience with Ab Initio
  • Familiarity with test driven development, continuous integration and release management
