IT Manager

The IT Manager will oversee and deliver TransEnterix's global IT operations, ensuring efficient and effective technical support for the organization. A strong background in IT networking is critical in the position, as the IT Manager will administer the Company's overall networking infrastructure in addition to providing direction on Applications and Helpdesk support. This role will also be responsible for identifying strategic short and long term opportunities for TransEnterix IT. The IT Manager will serve as a player-coach in this position.


  • Maintain and analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
  • Establish efficiency standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure and processes
  • Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
  • Leverage a strong background in business-related applications such as an ERP in order to effectively coordinate the use of such systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical device IT audits and compliance requirements
  • Design and implement business continuity protocols and controls to minimize disruption to business operations 
  • Facilitate IT security audits or investigations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
  • Maintain inventory of technology equipment 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Must be available during normal business hours as well as have the ability to be on call as necessary, work after hours as needed and appropriate to support the demands of the business

  • Proficiency in latest technologies for IT systems and management 
  • Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support the Company's goals
  • Robust understanding of business-related applications such as ERP systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of medical device IT audit and compliance requirements
  • Prior IT company-wide management
  • Experience in the medical device industry is preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least ten years of experience managing an IT department

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
