Director, Finance, Planning and Analysis

Job Summary

TOMS Shoes is looking for a Director of FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) who will be responsible for providing financial leadership to drive business results and operating efficiencies for TOMS. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting, developing and improving the financial processes that enable sound planning and decision making for our marketing team. This position will supervise a finance professional and work closely with various business partners and the leadership team. This position will track and analyze key metrics and provide financial support to enable business growth and identify opportunities and risks in the business.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the company's Annual Operating Plan, Forecasting Process and Long-Range Plan.

  • Present monthly and quarterly financial reports to various departments.

  • Close involvement in preparing and providing reporting needed for Lender and Private Equity Partners.

  • Assist Accounting Team in monthly Close Process.

  • Manager a team member and drive a strong culture focused on teamwork, accountability and driving results.

  • Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives, using advanced Excel skills and SAP Queries, with an eye toward automating the overall process.

  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators relevant to the business.

  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Financial forecasting/analysis, accruals accounting and/or rolling forecast management

  • Strong partnership and collaborative style with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills especially for an audience who may not possess familiarity with finance

  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills; SAP and BI or comparable systems knowledge

  • Experience in developing complex financial models, forecasting, reporting and variance analyses

  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial principles and budgeting practices.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative skills and possesses the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

  • Ability to manage/lead cross functional teams in a fast paced, dynamic environment, to think strategically, act tactically & influence across the organization

  • Exhibits strong initiative and the ability to manager multiple projects; strong follow-through


Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics is required

  • Master of Business Administration or other equivalent post graduate degree is preferred

  • Experience in retail/fashion industry
