Part-Time TNTP Core Videographers – Oakland/SF Bay Area
We are seeking part-time, seasonal TNTP Core Videographers with amateur or professional experience in videography. Video Reviewers will be TNTP employees working in Oakland/SF Bay Area. These positions are available to start immediately. This role requires approximately 10-20 hours of work per week between December 2016 and January, 2017 but can be variable within the window based on business need.

What You’ll Do
TNTP Core Videographers are responsible for video recording classroom lessons and submitting this footage to an online video platform for new and veteran teachers as part of a national research study. Videographers will be required to attend 2-3 hours of initial training as well as 1-2 follow-up meetings throughout the year. Training will be conducted virtually (through phone and webinar conferencing) and check-in meetings will be conducted via phone with central TNTP management. These check-in meetings will discuss and address logistical issues such as school access, scheduling, and technology troubleshooting.
Core Videographers will be assigned a caseload of 15-30 participants based their respective city. Videographers will video-record each participant 3 times between December 2016 and January 2017. The lessons recorded and uploaded by Core Videographers will then be reviewed and scored by trained video reviewers against TNTP Core Rubric (TNTP’s new, innovative classroom observation rubric) to help us understand the connection between classroom observation scores, reviewer content expertise, and student performance data. A Core Videographer is responsible for:
- Traveling to local schools, using personal transportation
- Scheduling visits to teachers’ classrooms in accordance with observation deadlines
- Recording with fidelity and high quality three 45-60 minute lesson cycles for each assigned participant between January and April of 2016
- Maintaining program-provided video equipment and independently trouble shooting challenges to ensure timelines are met
- Uploading lesson videos to a central server following standard protocol within 48 hours of filming
- Participating in all required trainings and check-in meetings
- Demonstrating professionalism in all interactions with program participants, school staff, and students
What You Bring
Successful Core Videographers are self-motivated with strong organizational skills and a track record of producing high-quality video recordings of dynamic environments. The ideal candidate must also:
- Pass a background check
- Have reliable transportation
- Be able to skillfully operate video equipment provided by TNTP
- Be familiar with uploading to online video platforms
- Have a basic understanding of lesson structure and classroom settings – education background preferred but not required
- Demonstrate ability to capture high-quality video of dynamic environments
- Possess a reliable high-speed internet connection and computer needed to upload video files (TNTP will provide necessary video recording equipment. TNTP does not compensate for Internet access or computer.)
- Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Candidates must also successfully complete all requirements of the initial training in order to continue as videographers. In the event that a candidate withdraws or is removed from training, he or she will be paid for the time invested in initial training but not for any of the subsequent follow-up meetings.
What We Offer
Core Videographers will be paid $20/hour for all training sessions, check-in meetings (including independent study) and completed lesson videos.
