Analyzes staff requirements in order to maintain the performance of the network to ensure optimal service is provided to T-Mobile’s subscribers at all times. Also provides the leadership team with direction; prioritizes workload and resources to meet objectives; proactively maintains the integrity of the network; develops both short-term and long-term goals; oversees project management; actively participates in budget management; and leads major network recovery efforts. Interacts with all local and regional departments to assist in developing new tools, processes, and planning/scheduling workload execution. Requires a solid leader with well-developed listening skills and who is ultimately accountable to our customers for the results his/her team delivers. This leader must foster innovation and develop cost saving measures to manage an efficient and effective network. Manages all aspects of field engineering and switch operations in order to provide a highly reliable and efficient network for all T-Mobile customers. This includes oversight of all field and switch operations and maintenance, cell site development, and optimization and performance monitoring of operating systems. Also responsible for management of Switch connectivity, Network performance and outage resolution.
Hires, leads and develops a 24×7 organization of employees/contractors whose primary responsibility is the daily operations, trouble management and maintenance of our network. Ensures appropriate staffing levels, coaching and training occurs within the team. Creates Quarterly Goals for technicians and managers, and monitors progress. Conducts Quarterly and Annual Performance reviews. Conducts business in an ethical manner in conformance with the T-Mobile Corporate Value system. Lives the GMC values daily.
Manages all operations projects including but not limited to equipment installations, switch expansions, technology rollouts (software and hardware), preventative maintenance programs for all operating systems, and national reliability projects/programs. This includes responsibility for all cost analysis, forecasting and execution to defined completion dates. Interfaces with Network Engineering, Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering, Sales teams, equipment vendors and the Network Operations Center (NOC), as required, to ensure a properly functioning, highly reliable and efficient network. Also responsible for all vendor contract negotiations within operations and establishing relationships with OEM vendors and local Telco companies.
Participates in the preparation of quarterly and annual market Capital and Expense budgets, identifying all needs and resources within Operations. Ensures fiscal responsibility for all expenditures, keeps track of the budget spend for the Operations team and assists in supervising the Purchase Order and invoicing activities.
