The Device Performance & Application QA team is responsible for driving end to end performance and quality of T-Mobile device technologies. The team evaluates device and network performance through advanced simulation of mobile environments and user behavior in T-Mobile Smart labs. The team is also responsible for validation and development support of T-Mobile's branded applications.

The Sr. Manager will be leading a large group of engineers and managers, who are responsible for defining technical performance requirements of new products. They will continue to drive performance for T-Mobile through internal product validation and by participating in industry forum working groups (CTIA/PTCRB). They will also be responsible for defining the strategic roadmap of the Smart Lab team and managing post launch performance of devices on the T-Mobile network. Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience with Advanced understanding of Wireless Network Architecture, technologies (LTE/UMTS/GSM) and concepts with focus on handsets, radio networks and IMS core.
  • 6+ years of experience managing 6+ direct reports with a proven results oriented leadership style
  • Ability to communicate internally, upward and cross functionally, with an executive presence.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and to produce excellent results with limited supervision.
  • Experience launching new network and device technologies from design to trial and post launch support.
  • Proven success in development and implementation of operating and capital budgets.
  • Experience with developing and establishing internal key performance metrics for measuring team performance.

  • Four year technical degree (Masters in EE/CS preferred) or equivalent experience

Smart Labs: Evaluate interactions, performance tradeoffs and post launch issues of new Radio Network and IMS technologies with newly released T-Mobile mobile devices. Define roadmap of technologies to be evaluated by Smart Labs and develop toolset and simulation capabilities required to meet the next generation of performance evaluation.

Post Launch Device Performance: Lead team responsible for investigations and analysis of device performance on network after product launch. Support operations on device/network inter-operability investigations. Develop performance dashboard and quality metrics for the Device QA organization, measuring OEM and TMO Device QA process performance.

Device Lab Development & Support: Lead team of engineers responsible for designing, building and supporting the evolution of the device validation lab and T-Mobile Smart Labs. Forecast, track and execute on budget for larger Device QA organization.

Handset Performance: Lead team of technical experts responsible for defining T-Mobile device performance requirements for RF, battery, acoustics, data, video and more. Drive T-Mobile performance requirements in industry forums and working groups. Evolve device performance requirements to meet changing business needs unique to the Un-carrier device portfolio and strategy.
