Sr Manager, Benefits Operations

Job Description:

T-Mobileââ,¬â„¢s Sr. Manager, Benefit Operations is a strategic leadership role on the Benefits team, responsible for delivering an effective and positive employee experience across both outsourced and in-house teams. This includes oversight of our 3rd party H&W administration partner as well as mid-level team members and their processes and procedures. This position will directly manage employee-facing interactions, including working with 3rd party vendors to create effective and efficient processes, partnership with peers within the team who manage other programs, and cross-functional HR partnership. This role will support the Director, Employee Benefits by operationalizing strategic initiatives that align with the vision and goals of the business.

Responsibilities:

Requires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership.

  • Vendor and program management of 3rd party Health and Welfare partner, Alight Solutions
  • Ongoing evaluation, analysis, and improvement of workflow, processes, procedures, and service level delivery of both in-house team and external partners
  • Leadership and management of staff, including coaching, training/development, and timely feedback
  • Manage escalated cases and liaise with internal business partners and external vendors
  • Partner with peers to effectively administer in-house benefits tasks and streamline vendor/in-house handoffs
  • Ensure operational and programmatic compliance with applicable laws and legislation
  • Relationship building and cross-functional HR partnership, particularly with Payroll, Employee Lifecycle Services, and HR Systems, to deliver a holistic #1HR experience


Qualifications:

  • 5-7 Years in Leadership/People Management role
  • 5+ years in Employee Benefits administration, including experience with multiple outsourced H&W administration vendors
  • High level of comfort with HR systems, data, measurement, and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with workflow analysis/improvement
  • Critical and analytical thinking and decision making
  • Strong communication and problem resolution skills
  • Solid up-to-date knowledge of benefits legislation
Desired
  • Experience with integrating benefits in an M&A environment, including both stock and asset mergers
  • Experience working for a large, strategic organization (20k+ employees)
  • Passion for building and streamlining processes and handoffs across teams
  • Experience with Workday, ADP, or other HRIS/payroll systems
  • Ability to network to source marketplace best practices
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships founded in respect and integrity
Education
Minimum Required
  • High School Diploma/GED. BA preferred
License or Certification
CBP or CEBS preferred
