Sr IT Solution Owner

It currently serves approximately 58 million wireless subscribers and provides products and services through 70,000 points of distribution.The Senior IT Solution Owner owns and guides IT projects from inception to delivery. This role is an Engagement Manager that works directly with the business and users to ensure that solutions satisfy business needs, proper requirements are established, and solutions are created (via either in-house or external development) and implemented successfully. The Senior IT Solution Owner will stay with the project throughout the project lifecycle, while guiding teams of Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers via matrix relationships. Enterprise Systems Development team at T-Mobile supports a wide variety of core internal and customer-facing functions including Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain. The Senior Solution Owner will have responsibility for projects focused on Business Intelligence for Supply Chain and Device Lifecycle Programs.

5+ years of IT solution leadership experience

Minimum of 5+ years in an Information Technology leadership role with the following: proven experience with Teradata, Business Objects, HDFS, Hadoop, Analytics, Data Warehousing and BI.

Experience with executive-level communications, tracking project interdependencies, communicating issues & risk, and managing relationships with business team executives at Sr. Manager, Director, VP and SVP level.

Ability to work independently and support multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines

Proven ability to solve problems creatively and resourcefully.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Proficient with MS Office Programs and aptitude for learning new software quickly

Proven record of demonstrating proper judgment in managing difficult situations.

Expert communicator who can lead and manage senior level relationships across organizational boundaries.

Working knowledge of Agile and traditional SDLC methodologies.

Demonstrated experience approaching technical and business solutions in a Consultative manner.

Background in applying best practices to development and operational processes


Industry knowledge(consumer/retail/telecom)- Strongly preferred

Knowledge and Experience within BI/Reporting, Data Warehousing, Big Data, Analytics highly desired and preferred

Experience with Information Management and Master Data Management technologies


Minimum Required

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other Technical related field or equivalent experience.


Analyzes complex business needs presented by the BI user, and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.

Defines KPI’s and metrics to identify measurable business impact based upon business input and business requirements.

Review and approves all business requirements prior to the technical solution and defining the business benefit of the BI solution.

Provides input into BI roadmap capabilities roadmap supporting the fast changing needs of the business.

Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.

Directs operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations with either Agile or SDLC approaches.

Responsible for driving BI UAT activities and user adoption post deployment. Coordinates training, readiness, and communications for BI reporting solutions.

Collaborates with Delivery Managers and Project Managers to produce detailed timeline for each assigned project and implements effective project controls by monitoring the progress and reporting the status.

Directs and prioritizes the work load of personnel assigned to the project.

Represents the IT function at customer review meetings.

Performs liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting.

Work with business teams and other EIT teams to align on priorities and deliver against these priorities.
