T-Mobile USA is a leading provider of digital GSM/GPRS, UMTS, and LTE wireless voice and data technology standards. Senior Engineers, Systems Design located in Bellevue, WA will be responsible for evaluating device and network performance.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Test and validate handset and data terminal prototypes (smartphones, mobile hotspots, tablets, projector, wearables, data sticks).

Define test requirements for RF parametric testing (MIMO, LTE-U) and security features (Remote SIM Unlock, Secure Boot)

Work closely and interact with network design and evolution teams, device and network product quality teams, and external network, handset, and chipset vendors to define the strategy and tactics to assist in driving leading edge technologies (Internet of Things) to market while maintaining the highest level of quality.

Serve as a validation lead for specific products; lead products from lab entry to launch and provide post launch support.

Work with cross-functional engineering operations and project management teams in realizing the vision for our devices (smartphones, mobile hotspots, tablets, projector, wearables, data sticks) which includes long-term planning and resolution of near-term issues.

Skill requirements:

  1. Utilizing Wireless Networks, Radio Air Interface, and 3GPP.

  2. Utilizing protocol and parametric mobile test equipment, including Anritsu, Spirent, Anite, Rohde, and Schwarz in order to assist in the formation of specification and validation of test case requirements and products.

  3. Utilizing debugging and logging tools, including IRIS, Wireshark, TEMS, and QXDM.

  4. Developing technical test requirements for advanced device technology features HSPA+, LTE, VoLTE, and AGPS.

  5. Utilizing GSM, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS, and Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), and Long Term Evolution (LTE) telecommunication Standards to test and validate handset and data terminal prototypes from different vendors.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
