T-Mobile USA is a leading provider of digital GSM/GPRS, UMTS, and LTE wireless voice and data technology standards. Senior Engineers, Systems Design located in Bothell, WA will provide advanced troubleshooting for automation applications and systems, and senior level technical support for automation-related project activities.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Build and modify systems to meet project and user requirements via automation tools like Puppet/Toolkit.

Participate in Enterprise systems design and code reviews.

Provide Enterprise Puppet Platform support in a Linux/Unix environment.

Conduct service now integration on Linux/Unix environment.

Evaluate hardware and software requirements and provide guidelines in purchase decisions.

Configure and tune hardware and software to ensure optimum performance and resource utilization.

Skill requirements:

  1. Designing and supporting Puppet automation in an enterprise environment running various Unix/Linux platforms supporting multiple lines of business for a large telecommunications organization.

  2. Utilizing VERITAS volume manager and VERITAS cluster services to support managing a large enterprise, including storage migrations, mirroring, and cluster services.

  3. Scripting in Bash or Ruby to facilitate automated installation, configuration, and change across a large number of Linux and Unix systems.

  4. Building Hadoop Clusters and installing Linux to support business intelligence functionality at a large national corporation.

  5. Designing and implementing HP and Cisco UCS chassis, as well as installing and configuring Linux to support the implementation of enterprise applications and platforms for at least three of the following applications: SAP, Tomcat, Tibco, CompTel, or MySQL.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related, and 3 years of relevant experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related, and 5 years of relevant experience.
