T-Mobile USA is a leading provider of digital GSM/GPRS, UMTS, and LTE wireless voice and data technology standards. Senior Engineers, Radio Frequency located in Simi Valley, CA will serve as lead technical resources for the engineering design and system performance of the VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, EDGE and GSM Radio Network.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the lead resource for RF coverage, capacity, and tuning, as well as optimization activities of high capacity VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, and GSM networks.
Develop processes and strategic approaches to problem solving, devise inter and intra-team processes for system performance improvement, lead the application of RF principles in order to improve network performance, and serve as lead subject matter expert on VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, EDGE, and GSM.
Develop and implement a training curriculum and training network, mentor engineering and technical staff including RF and Associate RF Engineers, develop training materials, and host training sessions on new features of VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, EDGE, GSM, and future technologies.
Handle special projects, including deployment of LTE1900, spectrum carving activities, new feature implementations, and performance improvement projects, such as VoLTE optimization and congestion reduction activities.
Advise management on tactical and strategic issues and define implementation guidelines for approved new features and technologies.
(1) utilizing Ericsson RAN architecture with experience in VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, EDGE, and GSM technologies, Ericsson OSS tools, MapInfo, Asset, Actix, and TEMS.
(2) applying RF propagation principles, cellular theory, and RF engineering tools to analyze and troubleshoot network problems and perform large scale network impacting jobs, including global parameter changes, rehomes, and market retunes.
(3) conducting network deployment on VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, EDGE and GSM networks.
(4) developing and delivering trainings on VoLTE, LTE, UMTS, GSM, and emerging technologies and mentoring junior engineers.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering or related, and three years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering or related, and five years of relevant work experience.
