Description

The System Architecture Engineer's role is to develop and evolve technical network and service architectures and design strategies to maintain, enhance, and evolve the T-Mobile Technology portfolio. Specific tasks may include the creation, adaption, or revision of detailed schematics of network and service architecture, hardware and software selections, and implementation techniques and processes. May be required to perform, evaluate, or interpret network simulation, test results, or leading edge technology studies. Technical documentation and presentation skills are required in order to translate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences. Influence and drive industry forums. Works on technical assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

The Sr System Architecture Engineer will lead multiple security projects that ranges from evaluation of a new security product, lab validation for both hardware and software solutions, to design and implementation of First Office Application (FOA). The Sr Engineer will also be responsible to implement the network security changes to the production network by following T-Mobile Network Change Management work flow.

Minimum Required

  • 5+ years of system, network and/or application security experience with solid understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols. Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and security infrastructure (Firewalls, load balancers, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and Virtual Private Networks).
  • 5+ years with expert level knowledge of Security platforms including firewall (Check Point/Palo Alto/Juniper), Cisco ASAVPN, ISE/ACS, Active Directory and Symantec MFA/2FA technology.
  • 5+ years of working knowledge of Load Balancer (A10 and F5), Web Proxy (McAfee) and IDS/IPS (Check Point, Nokia or McAfee)
  • 5+ years of in depth knowledge in system, engineering and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security.
  • Strong experience in design and implementation of certificate management system is highly desired.
  • Broad technical knowledge of current and emerging cyber threats, as well as security technologies and methods used to protect both corporate and customer facing network infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco router and switching platform and Cisco IOS, NXOS, IOS-XR is desirable.

  • B.S in Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications with 3 years of work experience

Preferred:

  • Master's degree with 1 year of work experience is required or 10 years of equivalent experience.

License or Certification
