Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience

5+ years of software development experience with a minimum of

2+ years of Android development experience

  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Proficiency with Android SDKs, different versions of android and managing different screen sizes
  • Experience with Android development UI design principles, patterns and best practices
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Understanding of Agile software development
  • Good understanding of algorithms, design patterns and software architecture
  • Expertise supporting mobile, tablet, and web-based software
  • Experience working with UI using storyboards

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Must have mentoring and guidance skills to provide oversight and direction to contractors located in different geographic locations and time zones

Proven ability to work with all members of an extended and diverse project team

Must be detail-oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and be capable of tracking multiple issues simultaneously

Development

  • Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to define, design, and ship new features for the TMobile Tuesdays application
  • Analyze user stories and participating in sprint planning, scrums, demos and retrospectives
  • Accountable for the performance, quality, usability and responsiveness of the application
  • Review and update code to ensure quality, organization, and automation
  • Provide oversight and direction to contractors working in different geographic locations

Perform peer code reviews for immediate and related teams

  • Develop application support documentation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of system changes into production
  • Build and unit test production deployment packages and implementation plans for scheduled system enhancements
  • Collaborate/Partner with cross-functional teams for successful delivery of offers and application releases

Collaborate with internal business partners to negotiate and adjust requirements

Coordinate with Architecture group on new designs and infrastructural application changes

  • Facilitate/lead reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and program code with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications to team and development lead
  • Contribute and work to meet project schedules by providing accurate estimates of effort required for development deliverables, by providing updates on project progress to development and project management, and by escalating issues that might affect project success to management
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and address defects

Documentation

  • Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications
  • Create and maintain documentation for Tier 2 and Tier 3 support
  • Perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for issues and document the findings

Operational Support

  • Support, triage, and troubleshoot support issues for the T-Mobile Tuesdays application
  • Support, triage and troubleshoot differing environment issues (Staging, Pre-production, Production) as needed, including system connectivity and communication protocols
  • Manage and update certificates and keys for the T-Mobile Tuesdays infrastructure as needed
  • Support weekly T-Mobile deployment/releases and maintenance windows
  • Provide on call and after hours support as required for production/maintenance releases and provide Tier 3 support on production outages.
  • Fix issues as needed and work with the testing and development teams to resolve
  • Take the lead on high visibility, high priority and difficult support issues
  • Proactively identify issues before customer escalation
