Join us on the T-Mobile Digital Promotions team and help us transform the way we do promotions. We are building a modern, RESTful API-based engine in the cloud to deliver new, creative promotion campaigns. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be critical to the success of the development, delivery and support of this new platform. You will be responsible for designing and developing internal and external applications, systems interfaces, databases, and reporting / business intelligence systems as required to deliver new business capabilities for promotions. The Senior Software Developer leads complex projects in an agile, results-focus environment, often mentoring and providing guidance to team members. You will be at the heart of our hands-on J2EE software development team, leading a vendor/partner development team to inject innovation and accountability into product design and development practices.

Minimum Required

Minimum 7 Years Application Development Experience.

Significant experience with J2EE application development.

Experience mentoring other members of technical/development staff.


Experience building & leveraging CI/CD pipelines using products like Slack, Rally, docker, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Chef is a plus.

Experience developing software within a cloud ecosystem is a plus.

Experience developing software for the wireless industry is a plus.

Education - Minimum Required

High School Diploma/GED

Requires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, organized design, strategic thinking, and relationship building with a focus on results.

Translate business/functional requirements and user stories into lightweight, documented technical specifications.

Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include automated code builds and unit test results.

Develop application support documentation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.

Build and unit test production deployment packages and automation plans for ongoing systems enhancements.

Lead reviews (walk-throughs) of technical specifications and code with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications.

Participate as a member of "one team" for after hours support as required for production releases and to respond as part of Tier 4 support team for production issues.

Meet project schedules by providing accurate estimates of effort required for development deliverables, providing updates on project progress to development and project management, and escalating issues that might affect project success to management.

Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training.

Collaborate/Partner with other teams including Enterprise Testing, Release Planning and Management, Business Systems Analysis, Project Management, and Application Support on successful delivery of systems enhancements.
