The Scrum Master is responsible for being a Coach, Facilitator and Servant Leader for the Product & Technology HR Domain teams. They will continually look for ways the team can improve and will be able to encourage growth through cultivating strong relationships and trust. The Scrum Master owns the process for the team and creates balance with the Product Owners and the Technical Product Managers. Foremost, they demonstrate servant leadership by ensuring the scrum team has the resources they need, are shielded from distractions and interruptions and work to remove impediments along the way. The Scrum Master will be responsible for organizing and facilitating ceremonies and events as well as administrative activities including budgets and sprint status reporting (burn up/burn down) when a delivery manager or project manager is not assigned to the effort.
â-ª Helps teams self-organize and self-manage.
â-ª Organizes and facilitates events including but not limited to daily stand-up meetings, reviews, estimation, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, burndown tracking and other Scrum-related meetings.
â-ª Work collaboratively with Product Owners, Technical Product Managers, cross-functional development teams, and Project Managers to support development and software delivery.
â-ª Assists the Product Owner and Technical Product Manager in user story creation/prioritization and product Backlog grooming via emergent requirements.
â-ª Asks difficult questions, removes impediments, and makes issues and problems visible. Escalates as necessary.
â-ª Ensures development team is working efficiently towards Sprint goals.
â-ª Coaches the development team and stakeholders on how to use Agile/Scrum practices at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
â-ª Ensures the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
â-ª Ensures cross functional coordination (analysts, developers and testers) is occurring early and often.
â-ª Recommends improvements and assists in changes to best practice.
â-ª Identifies and manages issues and jeopardies with a clear grasp of the challenges/options until resolved.
â-ª Mitigates all risks and issues "real-time", executing resolutions on demand.
â-ª Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams with diverse personalities, during high pressure scenarios, within extremely tight deadlines.
â-ª Demonstrates awareness of Agile technology practices (e.g., Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration).
â-ª Demonstrates ability to analyze project issues and challenges and proactively define alternatives.
â-ª Demonstrates ability to work closely with delivery teams to establish expectations and ensure tasks remain on track.
â-ª Demonstrates proficiency in Budget management.
â-ª Experience as Scrum Master in a workstream with team working on a SaaS product is a plus but not required.
â-ª HR experience is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
- 4-7 years Demonstrated success with ability to coach a team and stakeholders on Agile practices and ensure adherence to Agile methodology.
- Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
- Proven leadership experience in achieving successful project outcomes
