Principal Architect, Finance Domain

Job Description:

The Principal Architect, Finance Domain is responsible for application design and implementation for all systems within the Finance domain. This position will provide technical leadership across the domain, lead the architecture and high-level design phases, assist with data modeling, identify controls, coach engineers, research new applications and opportunities and author frameworks and utilities to improve the efficiency of the engineering staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture and technical design to satisfy project business requirements and drive review and communications of solutions with impacted technology teams. Apply experience designing and architecting across ERP, and Finance domain related systems.
  • Interacts effectively with senior management to effect solutions for Finance domain architecture.
  • Leads discovery or visioning phase to create high level design approaches for the Finance domain.
  • Understands industry trends impacting the Finance domain to help architect and drive a relevant strategy.
  • Defines an architecture that optimizes for flexibility, re-use, scalability, performance and availability within the Finance domain. Able to partner with dependent domain architects to ensure alignment with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Understands preventative and detective control frameworks and can drive downstream and upstream applications towards an efficient controls ecosystem
  • Ability to create documentation needed to drive the strategy, architecture and adoption including process/system flows, sequence diagrams, swaggers, logical/reference architecture, solution architecture, capabilities model, standards, KPIs, etc.
  • Hands on architect who can develop, coach developers, perform code reviews, audits and provide clear direction to engineers on new or improved patterns
  • Serve as a technical point-of-contact for business teams to help define, estimate, and recommend optimized solutions for business initiatives
  • Drives cross functional capabilities by building proactive relationships within multiple areas that impact the Finance domain.
  • Deliver technology strategy roadmaps by modeling as-is and to-be architectures using best practices in the industry
  • Apply experience implementing solution security by promoting Secure Solution development based on OAuth and JWT, as well as performing technical activities including code review, vulnerability analysis, thread modeling, source code remediation, and patching
  • Expert in their capabilities, platform(s), domain area. Understand the technology stack inside and out and can provide vision, strategy, guidance that spans leadership and individual developers. Ability to go broad and holistically with in-depth knowledge of the code and technology
  • Apply experience implementing automated unit and synthetic testing, service virtualization, performance and operational telemetry, and dashboarding for applications to drive the digital transformation.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering/enterprise architecture/technology leadership across multiple products, systems and/or platforms, especially within the Finance domain.
  • Minimum 7 years' professional experience using 3 or more development languages (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Proven ability executing high-profile projects and providing thought leadership to a large organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to decompose complex problems and perform root cause analyses.
  • Understanding of the Agile software development life cycle.
  • Confidence and ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools, microservices, containers, event based architecture and cloud platforms.
  • Proven success in leading web hosted and/or cloud-based design, implementation and/or operations, and experience in building and deploying Enterprise wide Digital applications.
  • Knowledge of Finance technologies and packaged platform systems including SAP, Oracle, IBM TRIRIGA, Aptitude, Anaplan, SUBEX, etc.
  • Understanding of the Agile software development life cycle.


Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred.
