PR Specialist - Consumer Events and Sponsorships

Weââ,¬â„¢re looking for a creative, multi-talented PR all-star to lead the external communications strategy around our brand events and sponsorships, in addition to leading our consumer/lifestyle seasonal media strategy. This is a big opportunity to drive the Un-carrier narrative with consumer media tied to major brand activations, in addition to key seasonal moments like Holiday and April Foolsââ,¬â„¢ Day.

This person will quarterback communications for these business areas, be the subject matter expert for the PR team, direct agency resources, participate in T-Mobile's fast-paced communication planning process, and partner very closely with the Events and Sponsorships team along with corporate communications stakeholders to develop and execute external communications strategy and content.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for:

  • Creation of content, including media pitches and unique owned content for consumer media
  • Elevating the brand and Un-carrier narrative with consumer media, tied to brand activations, including events, sponsorships and seasonal moments
  • Raising awareness and consideration with consumer audiences for T-Mobile via earned and owned media during key seasonal moments
  • Maintaining and/or developing relationships with top media
  • Measuring results and adjusting strategy as needed
  • Partnering with stakeholders across corporate communications, T-Mobileââ,¬â„¢s events and sponsorships team, and other teams to develop breakthrough PR
  • Managing agency resources


While the quality and accomplishments of a personââ,¬â„¢s career will be the determining factor, the finalist must have the following requisite qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience working at a fast-paced, high-volume PR/marketing agency or corporate communications team
  • Consumer/lifestyle public relations expertise
  • Experience working with media
  • Demonstrated strong collaboration skills and organizational skills with a history of taking proactive action and anticipating issues
  • Exceptional writing abilities with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Bachelorââ,¬â„¢s degree is required

  • Experience with well-known consumer product brands
  • Experience in other areasââ,¬or working with other areasââ,¬such as web marketing, social media, public relations, corporate communications
  • Background in technology, and understanding of various consumer audiences
