This is a technical management position which provides leadership and direction to professional staff that are responsible for T-Mobile's user-facing client UI development. A manager typically manages multiple functional areas. Develops engineering objectives for their functional areas and ensure engineering plans are aligned with business objectives. Develops plans to align with business objectives and establishes activities/projects that drive goal achievement and collaborates in setting strategic direction for their functional area.

Minimum Required

Strong Leadership & management skills, including strategic thinking, self-awareness, and empathy.

Strong skills including listening skills and ability to build consensus across teams.

Mastery of UI Design tools for the mobile space and concepts AngularJS, ReactJS, React Native.

Familiarity with managerial accounting and statistical analysis.

Strong demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills.

Able to lead research and publication of technical and/or design concept guidelines.

Strong proficiency with MS Office.

Proficiency for organizational/team goal setting.

Problem solving / troubleshooting skills.

4+ years technical management experience in a medium to large corporate IP, IT or Wireless Service provider environment in UI Development organizations.

4+ years of experience in budget forecasting and budget tracking with a high degree of accuracy.

4+ years skilled at management of RFI/RFP process, capital acquisitions and contract negotiations.

4+ years effective organizational objectives/goal setting and achieving experience.

Understanding of front-end code standards, best practices, and different capabilities including HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Understanding of mobile OS capabilities of Android, iOS and other web-based UI front-ends

Desired

A plus to have knowledge and/or history of programming capability in front-end/back-end web development or Android/iOS ecosystem(s)

Essential Functions

Management, Leadership Development, and Coaching: Leverages goal setting, ongoing assessment, coaching, and performance evaluation to support performance and behavior objectives for direct and indirect reports in the function. Understands and communicates the functional group's vision and creates alignment of their area to that vision. Recognizes development needs and identifies/creates development opportunities within workgroup. Contributes to succession, diversity and talent pool planning. Creates an environment for ongoing peer development.

Organization/Vendor Contacts: Engages cross-functionally with other department management, concerning progress or outcomes on major initiatives. Engages in cross-functional contacts to develop collaborative partnerships with peers and top management. Identifies and proposes alternative solutions to upper management regarding obstacles, resources and other operating issues. Persuades others or gains the acceptance of decisions affecting other. Drive vendor or internal stakeholder roadmap to ensure T-Mobile requirements are adequately met and close any development gaps.

Interface directly with customers, as needed, to resolve issues as well as assist in design constraints.

Provide a high level of response to company research & development efforts including attention to new technologies as well as capabilities.

Manage, recruit and grow a talented team of software engineers and managers

Work with Product & Design team members to access the feasibility and effort required for potential features

Manage Implementation of HTML/CSS3 and JavaScript unit tests to support continuous integration test efforts

Financial/Fiscal Responsibility: Contributes to budget development and implementation, manages resources to ensure final financial objectives are met within own area. Prepares and presents business cases and feasibility analysis to directors and senior leadership team to gain approval of capital expenditures and allocate resources. Processes and tracks POs against quarterly/yearly forecast.

Contribute to the creation and evolution of design principles, guidelines and patterns.

Guide, mentor and inspire other designers in the team, keeping up with mobile and non-mobile design industry evolution including best practices, new trends, and technologies.

Collaborate with other team leads in continuously evolving team process to better serve the team's needs.

Provide feedback and direction to ensure intuitive and innovative solutions and drive consistency following established design principles, guidelines and patterns.

Fluency in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.

Demonstrate a high level of accountability, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to manage workload and achieve results.

Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
