The Cyber Security Operations Services(CSOS) Manager leads the system engineers primarily responsible for infrastructure and content development. The infrastructure scope of responsibilities includes architecture and system performance maintenance and monitoring of the cyber security systems. The application and content administration responsibilities includes all administration, management, configuration, testing, and integration tasks related to the cyber security systems, focusing primarily on content development to create reports, dashboards, real-time rules, filters, and active channels.

The manager oversees all development, management, and configuration tasks related to cyber tools. The CSOS manager will take managerial ownership of the CSOS team and be responsible for maintaining smooth operations, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met, and for building relationships and processes with adjacent organizations, including the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), to ensure systems remain relevant and up-to-date.

Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant info security technology or related field

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Strong communication, literacy, and comprehension

Working knowledge of security policy, compliance and control environment related to information security

Experience managing a team of 4 or more

Demonstratable experience with leadership role on at least one large project implementation. Demonstrated organizational influence

Computer Science or Information TechnologyResponsibilities

Manage the team responsible for 24x7 support of the cyber support systems. The responsibilities of the team include:

  • Development, implementation, and execution of standard procedures for the administration, backup, disaster recovery, and operation of the system's infrastructure, including: operating system security hardening, backup management, capacity planning, change management, version or patch management, and lifecycle upgrade management
  • Development and maintenance of the technical architecture of the cyber support systems, enabling all the components to perform as expected and meet established service-level objectives for system uptime. Specific duties include:
  • Performing routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
  • Maintaining up-to-date documentation of designs or configurations
  • Responding to after-hours infrastructure issues as required (on-call support)
  • Assuming responsibility for new product release management, policy and integration testing, security testing, and vendor management
  • Maintaining hardware or software revisions, content, security patches, hardening, and documentation
  • Developing and deploying content for the infrastructure, including use cases for dashboards, active channels, reports, rules, filters, trends, and active lists

Specific manager responsibilities include:

  • Management of the team's scheduling
  • Ensuring that content is maintained for effective incident management
  • Identification of chronic operational and security issues and ensuring appropriate management and remediation
  • Management and escalation of roadblocks that may jeopardize security operations, infrastructure, and SLAs
  • Serving as a senior mentor to Security Operations Center (SOC) staff
  • Interfacing and collaboration with outside teams
  • Tracking tactical issues in execution of CSS responsibilities
  • Management of the process improvement program for CSS processes and systems
  • Serving as an incident manager for the SOC, along with other collateral responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements:
  • 5 years of experience managing Cyber Security Support systems
  • 3 or more years shift lead, supervisory or management experience
  • Conversant with security concepts and techniques
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Have obtained or are working towards security certifications (Security+, CAP, CEH, CASP, CISM, CISSP or other related security certifications)
  • Experience with HP ArcSight or other SIEM solutions

Minimum Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Certification in Information Security and Information management, CISM, CISSP, or CISA

General/Physical Requirements

  • Must sit for extended periods of time. Extensive PC and telephone utilization.
  • On call work in a 7x24 Operations Center
