Director, Supply Chain Platform Delivery

Job Description:

The Product and Technology Director, Supply Chain Platform Delivery will drive a world class IT delivery organization to develop, maintain and support the platform which underpins the $13B supply chain. This Executive will be responsible for leading teams (direct reports 4-5, indirect in the organization designed to be 50-60, and extended teams with managed service partner of 100+ resources) in building out the Supply Chain capabilities native to the platform, enabling the T-Mobile brand promise vision of allowing our customers to get what they want, when and how they want to get it.

S/he role will lead the development related to the strategy for the platform, where currently platform maintenance spend is > $22M / year with a total spend > $100 M per year. A strong leader is required to engage with the business and lead the organization through the transformation required to achieve our brand promise. This Director will set the strategy for the future platform direction, revamping all business operations which touch the platform, and optimizing the combined platform and surrounding digital capabilities to achieve business outcomes. They will influence spend for a $40-$50M capital envelope for the enterprise. This leader will have 3 functions reporting to them; architecture for platform-enabled technology, delivery management for the package and related development, and product owners for the platform itself as well as for business engagement in the areas related to platform support and for data management across the Supply Chain Domain. This leader would develop a factory-approach team with their resources to deliver capabilities through the managed service provider for the Supply Chain Domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive team and vendor partners to identify key processes that foster current success and assess pain points
  • Lead teams to deliver platform capabilities (4-5 direct, 40-50 indirect internal, and 100+ managed service resources)
  • Establish guiding principles, target goals and appropriate projects to put objectives into practice
  • Partner with Agile COE to develop leadership and team training for the team
  • Capitalize on new year roadmap and strategically align program level work with business operations
  • Budget Management and responsibility for SOW's, PO's and invoices related to platform development
  • Optimize the relationship with the platform vendor and partner with the digital team for a cohesive strategy
  • Lead modernization and maturity efforts of the enterprise platform applications
  • Lead and manage relationship with managed service partners to insure delivery of timely and high-quality services
  • Lead teams for delivery of high quality, timely software development services for the platform within budget
  • Recommend and implement new technology solutions for the platform in collaboration with other DTD solution delivery teams
  • Ensure development teams are staffed with talent that is required to develop, deliver and manage systems required by the business to produce outstanding results
  • Foster a culture focused on innovation and data-driven, constant improvement of technology delivery processes, tools and methodologies with a focus on efficiency and automation


Qualifications:

  • Large scale ERP transformation
  • Broad experience in supply chain operations and technology delivery, ideally in a retail environment
  • Proven ability to develop successful strategies for leapfrog digital solutions to business challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in transformative situations; this is not a tread water' position
  • Demonstrated experience holding managed service partners to high levels of quality service delivery
  • Ability to communicate with business leaders in terms that are meaningful to them and which focus on business impact/outcomes
  • Strong leader who can effectively collaborate with business, internal technical, and managed service team leading through influence
  • Experience working in growth environments and a proven change agent
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a large and organizationally complex technology staff and collaborate productively with other parts of the organization
  • Ability to understand business needs through collaboration with Business Solution Directors who work directly with the business
  • Strong skills in negotiating service agreements with vendors
  • Exceptionally principled leader with direct experience operating secure and compliant platforms; direct experience with SOX control definition, operation and ownership highly desired
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, regardless of audience, medium, or forum
  • Decisive leader who can move business forward quickly while balancing time, cost, and quality
  • Agile; thrives in a fast-paced, constantly shifting environment
  • Collaborative, yet influential
  • Strong business acumen; incorporates overall objective in developing strategy and decisions

  • Minimum 5-7 years management/leadership of support and operational service teams
  • Overall technology experience, 10+ years
  • Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree or equivalent experience is a plus
